Texas Generator Services
17+ Years of Experience
A-Lectric Company and Contracting is fully licensed and insured to provide residential and commercial generator services. Our factory-trained technicians service Texas communities that are within a 150-mile radius of Shreveport and Bossier City. We offer quality generators from the leading brands, expert installation, same-day repairs, and preventative maintenance to ensure that your property is ready for the next power failure.
The most efficient and convenient generators are standby generators. These are installed and wired to your electrical system with an automatic transfer switch. When the power goes out, the transfer switch disconnects your electrical system from the utility power and transfers to the generator power. This happens automatically.

Everything is bigger in Texas, including storms and power outages. When you need reliable emergency backup power for your home or business, trust our fully licensed and factory trained technicians.
Once the generator has been installed, annual inspections and maintenance are required to keep the generator working reliably and detect any problems that may arise. Many generator problems can be prevented with regular professional maintenance. This can reduce the risk of suddenly being left without power and save money on generator repairs.
Professional generator maintenance includes:
- Inspection: Technicians will inspect the fuel lines, connections, shut off valve, baffles, exhaust system, air filter, breather tubes, block heater and carburetor heater, and all wires, cables, and connections. The transfer switch and air flow will also be checked.
- Testing: The battery voltage, battery charging system, battery charger alternator, and battery under a load test will be conducted. In addition, the governor spring will be tested, the generator voltage and frequency will be adjusted, and safety shutdowns will be checked. The technician will simulate a power outage to ensure the generator works as it should.
- Cleaning: Maintenance service includes cleaning the battery terminators, brushes and slip rings, door hardware, and any debris from the generator housing. The spark plugs and generator oil will be changed.
In between maintenance visits, there are a few things you can do to make sure your generator is working and ready to supply power when you need it. You should check the oil regularly, add oil when it is needed, and make sure the generator is free of snow, ice, and debris.
